Canada leads the way (once again)

Fast eclipsing it’s southern neighbour, Canada took the final leap today and legalized weed.

The FIRST G7 Nation to do so, Canada becomes the second country after Uruguay (of all places) to completely allow marijuana use by its citizens without reproach of prosecution. Pushing it one step further, forthcoming full pardons for simple pot possession are expected soon. GO CANADA!

SMART ! The tourism is going to go batshit next summer as those poor Americans head north to herb country.

Apple wants its secret iPhone back

Someone is FIRED!

On March 18, a young Apple (AAPL) engineer had a few too many drinks at a beer garden in Redwood City, Calif., and left his cellphone behind on a bar stool. A customer picked it up, saw that it looked like an iPhone, located the Facebook app and found the owner’s profile page (since removed). According to this customer, he tried to contact Apple but all he got for his trouble was a case number. By the next morning, the phone was dead — disabled remotely.

Meanwhile, he’s looked more closely at the device and discovered that underneath what looks like an ordinary iPhone is something quite different. For one thing, it has two cameras — one on the front and one on the back. He breaks open the outer case and finds the device shown at right.

This is where the story gets a little shady.

TECH | i can’t hack IT any more!

Gone are the days of hero worship, being the most popular kid at school. No more thanks from the teachers while you give them free “IT training” ( which has been simplified by a factor of 10 to take into account the massive drag factor of their brain) caused by trying to understand a complex problem during a school assigned coffee break.

The computing world is a very different place now.

Hacking is no longer a true art form, born by geniuses of the past. It’s now the realm of script kiddies, social misfits and the criminal underworld.

Hackers were people who could fix anything, find problems or formulas to solve problems people didn’t even know existed. In fact most hackers of the 80’s worked at processor level and really understood the difference between an NAND and NOR gates.
