Addiction: Effects of Smoking Cocaine
Smoking crack makes you extremely addicted. Already after the first use, you feel a craving for the next dose of crack.
Furthermore crack is very harmful to your health and leads to severe psychological problems.

It is hard to believe that crack cocaine comes from an innocuous little leaf from the coca plant. There is nothing remarkable looking about the plant, but it has been a popular remedy for all sorts of ailments for thousands of years. Originally, from South America, ancient native people often chewed it and it was even used in the very first formula for Coca-Cola in the 1800s. In fact, cocaine was sold in pharmacies. It wasn't until the 20th century that cocaine was found to be very addictive and therefore stopped being sold publicly.
Is smoking cocaine the same as smoking crack?
It is possible to smoke cocaine in the form of crack. Crack is made by heating cocaine and basicity substances (p.e. ammonia or sal ammoniac). Crack is coke with a hydroxyl group added to it to allow it to be administered via smoking as apposed to snorting it.
Cooking the crack doesn’t remove impurities from it, especially since you’re adding baking soda to it as part of the process.
The drug is simply dissolved in a baking soda and water solution and then boiled. The water evaporates leaving behind solid material, which is called crack cocaine.
High wise – picture coke as a longer curve with a lower peak while crack is a much shorter curve with a much higher peak. The area under both curves is the same, and both are biphasic. Meaning that the higher you get, the lower you are when you come down.
That’s why crack is so much more “addictive,” users come down quickly, and repeatedly smoke more hits to try to get back up a good peak and prolong the crash.
In the long run, crack is cheaper, but it takes a lot more (costing more money overall) to have a hour or two of a great time. And, you can’t forget the social stigma against crack being a little heavier than that of coke.

How do u know if someone is smoking Crack Cocaine?
If he was shaking, fidgeting, or his eyes were very wide he could be high on crack. Did he look paranoid?
- Their eyes will be squinted but the pupils will be very large!
- Another way of telling that people are crack smokers is their teeth – this drug will rot them eventually.
NOTE: My sister’s teeth are bad but it is from prescription meds she has been on for the past 12 years and will always be on for life. Don’t accuse a person judged by their teeth unless you know they aren’t on prescription meds!!!
