McLeods not guilty of assaulting cop

A FATHER and his two sons have been found not guilty of assaulting policeman Matthew Butcher, left partly paralysed after he was head-butted in a brawl.
A District Court jury yesterday found Robert McLeod, 56, and his two sons Barry McLeod, 29, and Scott James McLeod, 35, not guilty of eight charges laid after the fight at Joondalup’s Old Bailey Tavern in February last year.
The verdict has sparked concerns from the police union that officers are no longer protected? when carrying out their duties.

Two minutes after midnight on Dec. 11, 1962, Arthur Lucas and Robert Turpin became the last people to be executed in Canada.
As they awaited their fate, the two could hear protesters gathered about 180 metres from their cell, speaking out against the practice the demonstrators called “public murder.”
Police say woman used fake ID to get fake breasts
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (AP) — Police are seeking a woman they said used a false identity to get breast implants and liposuction, then skipped town. Huntington Beach police said Monday that a 30-year-old woman opened a line of credit in someone else’s name in September 2008 and had the procedures worth more than $12,000 performed at the Pacific Center For Plastic Surgery.
Employees said she never returned for follow-up visits.
Police said the woman faces charges of commercial burglary, grand theft and identity theft.

Teen dies as police use Taser to break up a fist fight in Michigan
BAY CITY, Mich. – Police in Michigan say a 15-year-old boy has died after being Tasered by officers who were trying to break up a fight.
Police didn’t release his name.
A Bay City police news release says officers answered a report of an early morning fight Sunday. The statement says two males were arguing in an apartment, and one of them “attempted to fight the officers.”
Police say officers Tasered him, and his reaction led them to immediately call for emergency medical help. He was pronounced dead at Bay Regional Medical Center.
Police say one officer has been placed on administrative leave.
